As water reflects the face, so one’s life reflects the heart. Proverbs 27:19 NIV
I planned to write more on this and include some thoughts about the end of my devotional readings from Bread and Wine: Readings for Lent and Easter.
But the thing about a proverb is it says what it says without needing any help from me.
Simple and beautifully accurate!
Thank you. Sometimes simple says it best.

Ahhhhhh…..towards the end of a long hard week……
Lovely sunset (or sunrise?)!

Thank you. The sun was settling down for the night.
Yes! Beautiful photo and powerful words.
Thank you Joy.
Someone should explain this proverb to me. Heart can have so many meanings, including that of a blood pump without any proven thinking or feeling capabilities. Is this another attempt to raise physiology to a moral level like the micro-physiologists on TV?
The heart here doesn’t refer to the organ but instead as the center of emotional, intellectual, and moral activity.
Oh? Is there such a center? Or was it invented by a religious scholar or a high school teacher?
It’s not invented. Do you love? Do you laugh and cry? Do you feel joy and awe when you’ve seen something beautiful? Feel anger at injustice? That’s the heart.
Oh, all right. You convinced me.
